Topics vary. Using analytic skills learned in core courses, students work with an AUP faculty member, visiting scholar or professional in an area of current interest in the field to be determined by the instructor and the faculty of the Global Communications department.

An introduction to storytelling through audio in broadcast and podcast. Over the course of this semester students will learn how to make their own podcasts, from ideation to branding to production and publishing. They will learn how to write, record, and edit their own audio stories for the world to hear.

The course will be divided into three main blocks of learning:
1. PODCASTING 101 (intro to podcasting, best practices, listening and analyzing podcasts and reading and writing sample scripts)
2. PRODUCTION 101 (Production dos and don'ts, recording in the field, editing software and post production)
3. PROMOTION 101 (branding, marketing, publishing and promotion of audio works)
