CM 5020 D – Digital Communications for Social Impact- Cody Damon -2 credits Frameworks, ideas, and case studies for creating impact through digital communications Description: This course will explore the tools, strategies, and best practices for creating measurable impact for nonprofit/charity/non-governmental organizations. Specific focus will be placed on innovative fundraising, awareness, and activation campaigns. We will explore building and managing communities on social, email, and emerging digital platforms. We will examine the opportunities and challenges presented to organizations from all the data collected on these platforms. We will also explore the role paid media plays in creating mission-focused digital communities. This course is designed for students interested in digital marketing and those seeking roles in social impact organizations.
